Syriac Union Party delegation visits Archbishops in Hasakah to discuss political developments and extend holiday greetings
HASAKAH, North and East Syria — A delegation from the Syriac Union Party (SUP) visited Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Gozarto (Jazira) and Euphrates Mor Maurice Amsih in Hasakah to convey Christmas and New Year’s greetings and discuss the situation of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and the broader challenges facing Syria.
The visiting delegation comprised Afram Ishak, head of the SUP Public Relations Office, along with party members Lahdo Gallo, Gaby Shamoun, Simon Jirjis, and Fadi Dawe. They expressed hopes that the New Year would bring peace, blessings, and prosperity to all the peoples of North and East Syria, as well as to the Christian community throughout the country.
The delegation also visited Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Gozarto (Jazira) Mar Joseph Shimei to extend similar holiday greetings and discuss issues affecting the Syriac people and Syria’s current situation.
These meetings highlighted the importance of solidarity and dialogue during a time of transition and challenges for the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community and all of Syria.
