Syrian Democratic Forces General Commander Mazloum Abdi: “We do not seek secession or division of Syria”

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Mazloum Abdi, General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), reiterated the SDF’s commitment to Syria’s unity, emphasizing unwavering support for a united nation, its territory, and its people.

Addressing claims of secessionist ambitions, Abdi firmly rejected such accusations, affirming the SDF’s dedication to unity and equality among all Syrians. In comments to Hawar News Agency following an interview with Al Arabiya, he stated, “We stand for Syria as one land and one people, ensuring equality in rights and responsibilities without discrimination.”

Support for Damascus and National Integration

Abdi expressed the SDF’s willingness to reintegrate with Syria’s national framework, emphasizing partnership over division or favoritism. He voiced support for the Syrian state, underscoring the importance of collaboration to strengthen national unity.

Abdi highlighted Syria’s natural resources as belonging to all Syrians. He declared the SDF’s readiness to place these resources under the control of the Syrian government to ensure their fair distribution, promoting stability and prosperity across the country.

Roadmap to Unified Governance

Calling for a collaborative roadmap with Damascus, Abdi stressed the urgency of achieving national unity through inclusive governance. “Swift implementation is essential to Syria’s recovery and the well-being of its people,” he concluded, reaffirming the SDF’s commitment to a unified and stable Syria.
