SYRIA: Turkish-proxy forces publish video of their drone attack on dancing civilian demonstrators at Tishrin Dam

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On Monday, the Turkish-proxy Syrian National Army (SNA) posted a video showing a drone attack it conducted targeting civilians who were dancing next to the Tishrin Dam in protest of Turkish and SNA aggression. The attack reportedly left several civilians dead and at least 20 others injured, including four journalists.

In a public statement following this most recent attack, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAARNES), condemned it as a violation of international and humanitarian laws.

The Tishrin Dam, a key piece of infrastructure that provides water and energy to the region, has been repeatedly target by drone and air strike. DAARNES described the incident as part of a systematic effort to destabilize the region and destroy its infrastructure, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis faced by local communities.

“This blatant attack is a violation of international and humanitarian laws, threatening the stability and security of the region,” the administration stated. “Targeting the Tishrin Dam as a vital facility aggravates the suffering of the people.”

Observers have noted that such attacks on critical infrastructure not only pose severe risks to human lives but also undermine efforts to maintain regional stability.
