Meeting held between SDC, SDF, and DAARNES in North and East Syria to discuss current political and security situation
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — A joint meeting between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), and the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) has urged the international community to pressure Turkey into halting its attacks on the region.
In the wake of continued assaults by Turkish-proxy Syrian National Army (SNA) and broader shifts in Syria following the fall of the previous regime, representatives from the SDF, SDC, and DAARNES convened to address pressing issues. Discussions focused on ongoing developments, potential dialogue with the new transitional administration in Daramsuq (Damascus), and strategies to counter Turkey’s ongoing aggression.
The meeting highlighted the critical role of the international community in pressuring Turkey to adhere to ceasefire agreements. Participants emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive ceasefire across all Syrian territories and called for Turkey to honor agreements signed to de-escalate violence in the region.
The joint statement stressed the importance of including North and East Syria in Syria’s broader political process. The region aims to play an active role in shaping the country’s future and contributing to its reconstruction. Leaders emphasized that the region’s approach is grounded in inclusivity and collaboration.
The meeting also underscored the importance of strengthening ties with various Syrian communities to foster internal cohesion. By establishing strong relationships with diverse components of Syrian society, the region aims to present a united front in addressing the daily challenges and opportunities shaping Syria’s future.
