European Delegation visits North and East Syria, strengthening ties with Autonomous Administration

RAQQA, North and East Syria — A joint delegation of parliamentarians and political representatives from France, Britain, and Italy visited the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAARNES) on Saturday, underscoring the deepening ties between the administration and European nations.

The delegation was welcomed by the Presidential Board of the Executive Council, who provided an overview of the administration’s organizational structure and achievements. Discussions focused on the region’s model of peaceful coexistence and the vision for a decentralized and pluralistic Syria.

Addressing Turkish Aggression and Regional Stability

The Council discussed with the delegation the Turkish government’s exploitation of Syria’s instability, particularly attacks on key areas such as the Tishrin Dam and Qara Qozak Bridge. They highlighted ongoing cooperation between the US-led International Coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in combating the Islamic State (ISIS) and called for international pressure on Turkey to halt its aggression in the region.

The visiting delegation commended the sacrifices of the people of North and East Syria in the fight against terrorism and pledged to advocate for more robust support from their governments. The delegation also delivered a symbolic gift from the Italian people to the Executive Council’s leadership as a gesture of solidarity.

During a press conference, discussions focused on relations with the DAARNES, Turkish hostilities, and the region’s future. Emphasis was placed on fostering national dialogue and ensuring meaningful representation for all Syrians, particularly women and youth.
