USUP President Ibrahim Mrad: Exclusion of Lebanese Forces is continuation of mentality excluding Christian community’s true representatives

BEIRUT — Ibrahim Mrad, President of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP), stated that the ongoing attempts to sideline the Lebanese Forces party reflect a persistent mentality of marginalization and the exclusion of genuine representatives of the Christian community in Lebanon.

In a Facebook post, Mrad claimed that this exclusion benefits the pro-Iranian Hezbollah, which he accused of betraying Lebanon, destroying the country, and harming its people.

Mrad argued that sidelining the Lebanese Forces party from the political landscape seeks to weaken Christians and prevent them from restoring Lebanon as a free, prosperous, capable, and developed state.

He emphasized that the Lebanese Forces Party holds the largest Christian parliamentary bloc and possesses the strongest Christian and national influence. The party, he added, has the popularity and competence to oversee critical government ministries, including Foreign Affairs, Defense, Interior, Finance, Justice, Energy, and Public Works.

Mrad’s remarks come amidst the insistence of the Amal Movement and Hezbollah on nominating the Finance Minister, a move he described as a direct challenge to the Lebanese people’s aspirations for independence from Iranian influence and Hezbollah’s dominance.
