IRAQ: Beth Nahrain Organization for Women strengthens support for women in Nohadra (Dohuk)
NOHADRA, Kurdistan Region of Iraq — A delegation from the Beth Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW) visited the BNOW regional office in Nohadra (Dohuk), Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), to enhance the role of Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian women in public life and discuss the challenges they face.
Led by BNOW Officer Ronak Elias Hanna, the delegation included representatives from the Baghdede (Qaraqosh / Hamdaniyah) branch. They were warmly received by Mona Hanna Matti, the head of the Nohadra office, along with other members of the organization.
Discussions during the meeting emphasized the importance of supporting and empowering Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian women, both intellectually and economically, to elevate their status in society. Participants explored various strategies and programs to strengthen women’s roles in the community and promote their active participation in all spheres of life.
The meeting also outlined actionable mechanisms and initiatives aimed at ensuring sustained organization and support for women in the region. By addressing these priorities, the Beth Nahrain Women’s Organization seeks to foster a more inclusive and equitable society for Assyrian-Syriac-Chaldean women.
