IRAQ: Lecture in Bartella explores political developments and unity in Nineveh Plains
BETH NAHRIN — As part of an educational and awareness initiative organized by the local committee in the Nineveh Plains town of Bartella, the Bethnahrin Patriotic Union (Huyodo Bethnahrin Athroyo, HBA) organized a lecture by Youssef Yaqub Matti titled Political Developments in Nineveh Plains.
The lecture focused on significant global, regional, and national political changes and their effects on the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian communities, particularly in Nineveh Plains. Matti analyzed the shifting political landscape and its implications for the region’s future, emphasizing the need for proactive strategies to navigate these changes.
Open Discussion on Political Parties
An open discussion followed the lecture, centering on the various political parties active in Nineveh Plains, their local support bases, and the role of nationalist parties representing the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people. Attendees deliberated on the future of these political entities and their approaches to advocating for the community’s rights in Iraq.
