Honoring Struggles and Sacrifices
Art exhibitions featuring portraits of martyrs will highlight the sacrifices made by women for their rights and freedoms. Brochures will be distributed across North and East Syria to raise community awareness about the significance of the day.
Mass marches will take place across North and East Syria, as well as in Holeb (Aleppo), Daramsuq (Damascus), the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), Lebanon, and Europe. These activities will culminate in grand celebrations on 8 March.
Additionally, a women’s delegation will visit the Tishrin Dam to show solidarity with the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) stationed there.
Voices of Leadership and Unity
Following the announcement, Vivian Baho Oussi, Co-Chair of the Executive Council in Gozarto (Jazira) Canton, spoke to SyriacPress.
“Whoever said, ‘Behind every great man is a woman,’ was right,” Oussi stated. “Women are mothers, sisters, and wives.”
She emphasized that 8 March is not an ordinary day, it is a global day for women who have fought and sacrificed to secure their rights.
