Syriac Maronite Patriarch Mor Bechara is in good health after attending The Future of Lebanon from a Christian Perspective Conference, his media office says
BUDAPEST, Hungary — The media office of the Syriac Maronite Patriarchate posted on its social media accounts a message that Patriarch Mor Bechara Boutros Raï is in good health, calling reports on social media he had been hospitalized in Hungary not true.
The media office’s statement said the patriarch only had a mild cold, which is why he was unable to attend the conference out of respect for the participants.
The Syriac Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rai is in Budapest but could not address yesterday’s opening session of The Future of Lebanon from a Christian Perspective Conference. The conference, held in Budapest, brought together scholars, political leaders, and activists to discuss the challenges and future of Lebanon’s Christian community. The patriarch’s representative Bishop Paul Sayyah read the patriarch’s speech in which the government of Hungary was commended for the initiative to convey the Conference in support of Lebanon’s Christians.
