Universal Syriac Union Party mark’s Mother’s Day in Metn: “We say to the world that she is a mother because she embraces all people”
JDEIDEH, Lebanon — To mark Mother’s Day, the Women’s Council of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in the Metn region of Lebanon organized a party in Jdeideh which was inaugurated by USUP Vice President and mayor Leila Latti. The event was attended by national and regional political representatives of the Guardians of the Cedars Party, the National Liberal Party, the Lebanese Forces, and Kataeb Party, alongside government administrators and school officials, media personalities, members of the USUP Women’s Council and friends.
The ceremony began with the Lebanese national anthem and the USUP anthem. Amal Rizkallah, Chairwoman of the USUP Women’s Council, gave a speech welcoming the attendees and describing this celebration as a simple tribute to the contributions and ongoing sacrifices of mothers.
USUP Vice President Leila Latti then gave a speech with the warm message, “We say to the world that she is a mother because she gathers and embraces all people. We say to the earth that she is a mother because she feeds all people. We say to language that she is a mother because she is the means of communication between all people.”
The ceremony concluded joyfully with the cutting of a cake and the distribution of symbolic gifts to the participating mothers, in gratitude for their vital role in building families and society.
