Olaf Taw Association for Syriac Language visits newly formed Syriac Orthodox Community Council in Beth Zalin, North and East Syria

BETH ZALIN, North and East Syria — On Tuesday, the Olaf Taw Association for the Syriac Language paid a congratulatory visit to the newly formed Syriac Orthodox Community Council in Beth Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria, marking the start of its new term.

During the meeting, representatives from the Olaf Taw Association highlighted their ongoing efforts to preserve and promote the Syriac language. They emphasized the importance of collaboration between cultural and religious institutions to safeguard Syriac heritage.

Members of the newly formed Community Council expressed their gratitude for the Association’s dedication to maintaining the linguistic and cultural identity of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people. Both parties discussed potential areas of cooperation, particularly in developing educational initiatives to encourage the use of Syriac among younger generations.
