BAGHDAD: HBA President Joseph Sliwa meets with Mohammed al-Husseini, PR Officer of National Wisdom Movement
BAGHDAD – President Joseph Sliwa of the Bethnahrin Patriotic Union Party, yesterday met with the Public Relations Officer of the National Wisdom Movement, Mohammed al-Husseini, in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
Sliwa and Husseini discussed the Iraqi political and security situation, and ways to enhance cooperation between political forces to achieve stability in the country. They also exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East and international developments and their impact on Iraq.
Sliwa and Husseini emphasized the importance of building a balanced foreign policy that preserves the country’s sovereignty, supports national interests, and enhances its role in the region. The two sides stressed the need to unite national efforts to face the many challenges the country faces and work to achieve the aspirations of the Iraqi people, without exception, for security, stability, and economic development.
The Bethnahrin Patriotic Union Party (Huyodo Bethnahrin Athroyo-HBA) advocates the rights of the Chaldeans-Syriacs-Assyrians, an indigenous people of Iraq with a long history stretching thousands of years, in Iraq. The National Wisdom Movement (Tayar al-Hikmah al-Watani) is a Shia political coalition led by Ammar al-Hakim, who led Iraq’s Islamic Supreme Council between 200 and 2017.
