Political Parties in North and East Syria extend congratulations on Babylonian-Assyrian New Year, Akitu 6775

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Syriac Union Party (SUP) and the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people received numerous congratulatory messages from political parties and institutions across North and East Syria on the occasion of the Babylonian-Assyrian New Year, Kha Nison–Akitu 6775.

Among those extending their best wishes were the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES), the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), the Democratic Union Party (Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat, PYD), the Yekiti Party, the Syrian National Union Party, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Syria.

The well-wishers emphasized that Kha Nison–Akitu serves as a testament to the richness and diversity of Syria’s social fabric. They highlighted that national celebrations such as this reflect a shared heritage that unites the country’s various communities.

Their message further underscored the importance of recognizing and celebrating cultural and national occasions as a means to strengthen coexistence, mutual respect, and national unity. They called for reinforcing the principles of freedom, equality, and justice, while ensuring that all cultural, religious, and national rights are protected within a democratic and pluralistic Syria.
