SDF Military Council reviews regional challenges and strategic agreements in latest meeting
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Military Council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) convened its regular session with the participation of SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi, members of the SDF General Command, leaders of constituent military councils, and representatives of all military institutions under the SDF umbrella in North and East Syria, including the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulhoyo Suryoyo, MFS).
Commander Abdi delivered a comprehensive political overview of the situation in Syria, with particular focus on the mounting challenges facing the region. He addressed, in detail, the agreements between the SDF and the Syrian Transitional Government (STG), as well as the accord reached by the General Council in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods of Holeb (Aleppo).

Abdi analyzed both the political and military dimensions of these agreements and emphasized ongoing local and international efforts to achieve a nationwide ceasefire.
Military council leaders followed with reports on structural developments and key accomplishments within their respective units. The meeting also included a discussion of performance challenges, with the general command criticizing current shortcomings and urging council leaders to address them while adapting to Syria’s evolving political and security landscape.
The SDF General Command further stressed the importance of intensifying military training to ensure preparedness for all potential scenarios. The session concluded with the adoption of several organizational and military decisions.
