USUP endorses Auguste Bakhos for Jdeideh-Bouchrieh mayoral race in Lebanon’s municipal elections
BEIRUT — As Lebanon’s municipal elections draw near, the Metn Coordination Office of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) officially endorsed the electoral list led by Auguste Bakhos, a lawyer and mayoral candidate for the Jdeideh-Bouchrieh Municipality.
The endorsement followed extensive consultations with USUP leadership and multiple meetings to assess Bakhos’ development plans for the region. The decision reflects alignment between Bakhos’ vision and the USUP’s objectives for regional progress and improvement.
The announcement was made in coordination with USUP’s political allies, including the Lebanese Forces party and the Kataeb Party, as well as local leaders and residents. The USUP urged its members, supporters, and allies to vote for Bakhos and his entire electoral list, highlighting the team’s capability, unity, and clear roadmap for addressing community needs and enhancing municipal services.
Municipal elections in Lebanon often mirror the dynamics of broader political alliances, particularly in Christian-majority regions. The USUP’s backing of Bakhos underscores confidence in his ability to tackle local challenges while fostering cross-party collaboration to advance Jdeideh-Bouchrieh’s development.
