Syriac Union Party’s Co-Chair Sanharib Barsom: The Kurdish Dialogue Conference serves the Kurdish cause, but also benefits the transitional political process in Syria

ZALIN (Qamishli), North and East Syria – Co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party in Syria Sanharib Barsoum congratulated the Kurdish people and all Kurdish political forces after the successful Kurdish Dialogue Conference held in Zalin (Qamishli) this Saturday. In a statement to our reporter, Barsom emphasized that the agreement serves the Kurdish cause, but at the same time also benefits the political process in Syria.

“We believe that such an agreement serves the Kurdish cause and their demands, while also advancing the political trajectory in Syria.” He also stated; “It encompasses numerous key points concerning the Kurdish issue and their demands, as well as the broader vision for the new Syria we aspire to build.”

“As Syria navigates a critical phase, it is vital to foster agreement among all political forces. This is a priority we are actively pursuing at the national level to achieve consensus on urgent and pivotal issues in building a new Syria. This includes drafting a new constitution and ensuring the participation of all Syrians in this transitional phase, laying the foundation for a unified and inclusive future.”

For him unifying visions and positions among the various Syrian components is the only way to achieve a comprehensive political solution in Syria. With regards to the Syriac people, he stated:

“In this regard, we, as the Syriac-Assyrian people and the national parties representing our people [in Syria], have taken steps over the years to align ourselves with this goal. We have established joint political agreements and continue to seek consensus with all Syriac-Assyrian and Christian parties to fully unify ranks, both within Syria and beyond.”
