USUP mayoral candidate for Jdeideh-Bouchrieh-El-Sed Rola Jean Hanna: Lebanese municipalities must place health issues at the heart of their priorities

Jdeideh-Bouchrieh-El-Sed, Lebanon – During the public announcement of the “It’s Time” list for the upcoming municipal elections, led by lawyer Auguste Bakhos, Rola Jean Hanna, candidate for the Syriac Union Party in Lebanon, gave a first speech in which she emphasized the importance of mental health issues in the work of municipalities. She has set it as a priority task in her election campaign.

Lebanon suffers from multiple social crises, Hanna said. She raised the issues, most notably, of the decline in prosperity rates, family disintegration, and the spread of drug and other heavy addictions. She believes that addressing these challenges requires giving mental health priority on the municipal agenda.

Rola Hanna added that municipalities must focus their attention on the real people before focusing on construction and development, emphasizing that a municipal area must be a safe space for all members of its community. She emphasized that “a mentally healthy society is the foundation of any renewal.”

Rola Jean Hanna is running for mayor of Jdeideh-Bouchrieh-El Sed, where municipal elections will be held in Lebanon on May 4.
