Syriac Cross completes final phase of agricultural support project in North and East Syria

HASAKAH, North and East Syria — The Syriac Cross Organization for Relief and Development has successfully concluded the third and final phase of its agricultural input distribution project, providing a crucial boost to local farmers in North and East Syria. The initiative, aimed at enhancing summer vegetable cultivation, delivered essential supplies, including insecticides and agricultural sprayers, to farmers in the region.

This final phase represents the culmination of a coordinated effort to strengthen local agriculture and promote self-sufficiency in a region long affected by conflict and economic hardship. “This phase marks our steadfast commitment to empowering Syrian farmers and reinforcing agricultural resilience at a critical time,” a spokesperson for the organization stated.

Over the past few months, the Syriac Cross has carried out multiple rounds of distribution, supplying resources tailored to combat crop pests and improve yields during the summer growing season. This targeted approach not only addresses immediate agricultural challenges but also establishes a foundation for sustainable development and economic recovery.

The initiative is part of a broader strategy to bridge the gap between humanitarian aid and long-term development, directly engaging with vulnerable communities to revitalize livelihoods. By empowering farmers in areas like Hasakah, the Syriac Cross contributes to a larger mission of fostering food security and self-reliance across Syria.

This project highlights the importance of local agricultural resilience in building stable, prosperous communities in regions recovering from prolonged adversity.
