Syriac Union Party hosts Kurdish National Council delegation, discusses pluralism and unity in Syria
BETH ZALIN, North and East Syria — The Syriac Union Party (SUP) hosted a delegation from the Presidential Body of the Kurdish National Council (Encûmena Niştimanî ya Kurdî li Sûriyê, ENKS) at its headquarters in Beth Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria, on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on recent developments in Syria, particularly in the North and East, and included discussions on various political issues and perspectives regarding Syria’s future. Both parties emphasized the importance of pluralism and securing the rights of all ethnic and cultural components in Syria.
The Kurdish delegation was led by ENKS President Mohammad Ismail, accompanied by ENKS members Faisal Yusuf, Suleiman Oso, Naamat Daoud, and Abdul Bari Khalaf. The group was welcomed by SUP Co-Chairs Sanharib Barsom and Shamiram Danho, alongside SUP Executive Committee Member Habib Ardish and SUP Council Member Rubel Bahho.
During the discussions, ENKS President Ismail highlighted the significance of the recent Kurdish conference and its positive outcomes, which he said reflect the aspirations of the Kurdish people. The SUP representatives commended this historic step, expressing optimism for continued unity among Kurdish political entities to advance the rights of both Kurdish and broader Syrian communities.
The dialogue underscored the necessity of inclusive cooperation and ongoing dialogue to shape a stable and equitable future for Syria, reinforcing the importance of unity among the country’s diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
