Syrian Democratic Forces and Syrian Democratic Council applaud US sanctions lift amid public celebrations across county
DARAMSUQ — General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), and the Foreign Ministry of the Syrian Transitional Government (STG) all welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Syria.
Through a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Abdi expressed gratitude to President Trump for the move, which was announced during Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia as part of a regional tour. Abdi highlighted the decision’s potential to improve living conditions, support stability, and facilitate reconstruction efforts in the wake of Syria’s prolonged war.

The SDC also praised the lifting of sanctions, characterizing it as a positive step for the Syrian people.
