Samir Geagea and Chaldean Archbishop Michel Kassarji discuss Lebanon’s political challenges and Christian unity
MAARAB, Lebanon — Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea met with Chaldean Archbishop Michel Kassarji in Maarab to discuss Lebanon’s latest political developments and the challenges facing the Christian community in the region.
The meeting included key figures such as former MP and Assistant Secretary-General for Outreach Imad Wakim, Head of the Party’s Office for Liaison with Spiritual Authorities Antoine Mrad, Beirut Coordinator and Representative to Eastern Christian Communities Eli Sharbashi, and Chaldean diaspora representative Shatha Namo.
Discussions emphasized the need to preserve the Christian presence in Lebanon and the broader Levant, underlining the critical role of the diaspora in supporting stability and fostering communal cohesion.
The leaders also examined the implications of the recent municipal and optional elections, advocating for inclusive policies and collaborative strategies to address Lebanon’s multifaceted political and social challenges.
