Saint Narsai Christian College in Fairfield, Australia, opens new sports and performing arts center

FAIRFIELD, Australia — Last week, on 20 May, Saint Narsai Christian College in Fairfield, Australia, marked a milestone with the grand opening of its state-of-the-art ssports and performing arts center. The ceremony was officiated by Assyrian Church of the East Archbishops Mar Meelis Zaia and Mar Benyamin Elya.

The event brought together the school’s staff and students alongside distinguished guests, including prominent government officials such as Labour MP Chris Bowen, New South Wales Legislative Council Member Mark Buttigieg, Labour MP Dr. Hugh McDermott, and Fairfield City Council Mayor Frank Carbone.

In a spiritual continuation of the celebrations, the first Raza Qadisha (Holy Mass) was held in the new facility on Thursday, 22 May, officiated by Archbishop Mar Meelis Zaia.

Saint Narsai Assyrian Christian College, an independent secondary school in Horsley Park, New South Wales, serves approximately 670 students from Years 7 to 12. Located in the Fairfield District near Sydney, the area is home to a significant Suraye community, encompassing Syriac Maronite, Assyrian, Chaldean, Syriac Catholic, and Syriac Orthodox denominations.
