Newly-elected Municipal Council of Jdeideh–Bouchrieh-el-Sad begins term with development focus
METN, Lebanon — The newly elected municipal council of Jdeideh–Bouchrieh-el-Sad held its first official session after taking office, following its victory in local elections earlier this month.
Chaired by Council President Auguste Bakhos, the inaugural session marked the formal beginning of the council’s term. Bakhos announced the commencement of council operations through his social media accounts, emphasizing the team’s commitment to advancing local development initiatives.
Bakhos led the “It’s Time” electoral list, which garnered support from both the Lebanese Forces party and the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP). The coalition achieved electoral success not only in Jdeideh–Bouchrieh-el-Sad but also in Zahle and several other municipalities, overcoming rival lists backed by other political groups.
