NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced the arrest of an Islamic State (ISIS) member in Al-Hol Camp during a security operation conducted in coordination with the US-led International Coalition.

The SDF Media Center reported that the arrested individual, Saleh Ali Salman Ali — known by his aliases “Abu Khairallah” and “Abu Awab” — is an Iraqi national. According to the statement, Ali had previously participated in numerous battles alongside ISIS against the Iraqi Army before relocating to Syria and infiltrating Al-Hol Camp under the pretense of being a refugee.

The SDF disclosed that Ali had resumed his ISIS activities within the camp, operating as a security operative responsible for recruiting youth and supplying intelligence to militants about the camp.

In a related development, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) reported an attack on a patrol from theConvoy and Road Security Division at the Makman checkpoint in the Sabah al-Khair area on the Raqqa-Hasakah road. The assault, attributed to ISIS-linked cells, involved a landmine explosion targeting the patrol vehicle.

An ISF official statement confirmed the martyrdom of three ISF members and the injury of one other while they were carrying out their duties of road protection and ensuring civilian safety.

Following the attack, reports of a second landmine in the vicinity prompted bomb disposal teams to conduct thorough sweeps of the area to locate and neutralize any remaining threats, ensuring the site’s security.
