BETH ZALIN, North and East Syria — The Olaf Taw Association for Syriac Language launched its annual summer program for children in its branch in Beth Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria, with activities taking place at the Martyr Abdulmasih Heidari School.

As part of its ongoing efforts to preserve the Syriac language and invest in childhood education, Olaf Taw announced via its official Facebook page that this year’s summer program includes lessons in the Syriac language, English language classes, and mental arithmetic sessions.

In addition to academic subjects, the program features a wide range of creative and recreational activities, including handicrafts, drawing, singing, folklore, and water games. It also includes outdoor components such as group excursions and swimming.

On the first day of the program, Olaf Taw distributed stationery supplies to children to encourage regular attendance and engagement throughout the summer session.

The Olaf Taw Association is dedicated to teaching the Syriac language across North and East Syria and the wider region. It has played a leading role in developing Syriac-language curricula for schools operating under the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES).
