Rawand Boulos elected deputy Secretary-General of Writers and Authors Union in Iraq

BAGHDAD — The head of the Syriac Writers Union Rawand Boulos has been elected to the position of deputy Secretary-General of the Writers and Authors Union in Iraq. The election took place at the Union’s headquarters in Baghdad.  

After the announcement, literary and cultural Syriac organizations congratulated Boulos on his appointment. The General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts, based in Ankawa and headed by Kaldo Oghanna, congratulated him on his election as well as his appointment as head of the Syriac Culture Office within the Union.  

In their statement, the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts extended their warmest congratulations and best wishes to Boulos. They expressed their appreciation for his continued commitment to this important literary and cultural role, which will further serve the Syriac language and culture. 

The General Union of Writers and Authors is a non-governmental professional and cultural association dedicated to Iraqi literary affairs. Founded in 1959, its main headquarters is in Baghdad, with branches across various Iraqi provinces.
