Syrian Democratic Forces capture cell of Islamic State terrorists in Tabqa
TABQA, North and East Syria — The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to carry out targeted operations across North and East Syria, dismantling Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells and thwarting planned attacks against their forces.
In a recent operation west of Raqqa, SDF special units, in coordination with the US-led International Coalition, arrested two ISIS members in the town of Mansoura. According to the SDF Media Center, the operation followed extended surveillance of the suspects’ movements.
The detainees, who are brothers, were identified as experts in weapons manufacturing and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The SDF described the cell as a serious threat, underscoring the need to maintain pressure on ISIS networks in the region.
In related news, the US-led International Coalition announced the elimination of two ISIS operatives in the Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) countryside. The operation took place in the Badiya area west of Dayro Zcuro.
The SDF and their allies have emphasized that ISIS continues to pose a significant danger, and joint operations remain crucial to securing long-term regional stability.
