Three Assyrians killed in car accident while on holiday in Beth Nahrin
IRAQ – Three Assyrians have died in a tragic car accident on the road from Nohadra (Duhok) in northern Iraq to Baghdad. The deceased are the Swedish couple James Sanharib Mikhail (49) and Maranita William (34), and their driver Dinkha Khoshaba.
James Sanharib Mikhail and his wife Maranita lived in Jönköping, Sweden and were on holiday in Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia). The couple were members of the Virgin Mary Church, of the Assyrian Church of the East, in Jönköping.
We have no information about how the accident happened.
The Diocese of Scandinavia and Germany of the Assyrian Church of the East, led by Bishop Mar Audisho Oraham, posted a message of condolence on its Facebook page in which it mourns the death of its parishers and their friend.
