Interior Authority of North and East Syria outlines achievements for first half of 2025

ZALIN (QAMISHLI), North and East Syria — The Interior Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) has released a summary of its major activities for the first half of the current year (2025), emphasizing its ongoing efforts to maintain stability and security across the region. 

Ali Hajo, Co-Chair of the Interior Authority, stated that the Interior Authority undertook several important initiatives in the first six months. These included updating and developing the internal regulations governing the Internal Security Forces, activating new departments and offices within the Forces, graduating one officer training course, and completing five additional training courses in various specialties. 

Hajo also noted that multiple security campaigns were carried out to combat terrorism and drug trafficking. These operations led to the confiscation of various types of narcotics and illegal weapons. 

Regarding traffic regulations, Hajo said the Authority established a new General Vehicle Registration Building and a General Traffic Directorate in the city of Hasakah. Additionally, several awareness campaigns were launched to encourage adherence to traffic laws and proper vehicle use. 

He further explained that improvements were made to the administration of border crossings and to the management of people entering the region. New border crossings were opened, and the locations of several others were relocated to improve efficiency and security. 

Hajo concluded by reaffirming the Authority’s commitment to its mission despite ongoing security challenges in the region. He revealed that 36 members of the Internal Security Forces had been martyred while performing their duties to protect the region from threats.
