Beth Nahrain Patriotic Union celebrates 25th anniversary of Bethnahrin National Council

BAGHDEDE, Iraq — The Beth Nahrain Patriotic Union (Huyodo d’Bethnahrin Athroyo, HBA) held a celebratory event on Sunday in the Nineveh Plains town of Baghdede (Qaraqosh), Iraq, to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB).

The event, organized by the HBA’s Baghdede branch, brought together party officials, members, and their families for a recreational gathering. It was attended by Fr Quryaqos Hanna Matoka, priest of the Virgin Mary Church in nearby Bartella.

The celebration began with a moment of silence to honor the martyrs of the MUB and the martyrs of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people. The event’s program featured several speeches, including an address by MUB member and former HBA president Yousef Yaqoub Matti, a speech from HBA delivered by Political Bureau member Ronak Elias Hanna, and remarks from the Beth Nahrain Women’s Organization (BNOW), presented by its president Hanan Matti Touma.

Following the speeches, the “Qithoro” folkloric dance troupe, affiliated with HBA’s youth organization, performed a series of folkloric dances.

At the conclusion of the event, institutions affiliated with the MUB delivered congratulatory messages to MUB’s President Mikhael Naim Hadodo, as well as to members of its leadership, affiliated organizations, and supporters.
