Protest held in Tel Tamr to condemn terrorist bombing at Mar Elias Church

TEL TAMR, North and East Syria — In a powerful demonstration of national unity and solidarity among Syria’s diverse communities, a group of political parties in the city of Tal Tamr organized a protest condemning the terrorist bombing carried out by a suicide attacker at Mar Elias Church in the Douileh neighborhood of Damascus.

Participants included the Assyrian Democratic Party (ADP), the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the Kurdish Democratic Party, and the Kurdish Left Party, alongside a notable presence of local residents representing the Syriac-Assyrian, Kurdish, and Arab communities.

The parties jointly condemned the heinous attack targeting worshippers at Mar Elias Church, describing the act as a stain on humanity and an assault on Syria’s national fabric at a time when the people most need unity and solidarity.

In a joint statement, the protesting parties called on the transitional government in Damascus to fulfill its national responsibilities by protecting all Syrian communities and ensuring their safety and security during the practice of their religious rites. They also urged a thorough investigation into the attack and demanded that the perpetrators be brought to justice and held accountable.
