Lebanese Forces head Samir Geagea meets with Lebanese President Aoun in Baabda to discuss latest developments

BAABDA, Lebanon — Head of the Lebanese Forces party Samir Geagea met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the Baabda Palace.  

Following the talks, Geagea emphasized that communication with Aoun has remained ongoing, noting that they reviewed the latest developments and conducted a comprehensive assessment, particularly regarding necessary domestic decisions in light of recent events.  

Geagea affirmed that Aoun is fully committed to establishing a genuine state in Lebanon, with significant progress already made in this regard.   

Geagea clarified that he had not sent any formal message to the president, since they maintain continuous dialogue on various issues.  

He stressed that building a true Lebanese state serves the interests of all citizens before being an external demand.   

GeaGea also reiterated that a sovereign Lebanon requires a unified military and that decisions on war and peace must rest solely with the government.
