Bethnahrin National Council delegation visits newly installed National Council of Qabre Hewore

QABRE HEWORE (QAHTANIYAH) — A delegation from several institutions of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo d’Bethnahrin, MUB) today visited the National Council (‘Meçlis Milli’) of the combined churches in Qabre Hewore, to extend congratulations on the occasion of the election of its new administrative body. 

The MUB delegation was received warmly by the members of newly installed local National Council, and both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between the different institutions of the Syriac (Aramean-Assyrian-Chaldean) people in these times of change in Syria.  

The MUB delegation affirmed its full support for the Council and endorsed its local mission, stressing the need for cooperation in matters of national, social, and cultural issues of concern to the Syriac (Aramean-Assyrian-Chaldean) people. For his part, the local National Council of Qabre Hewore expressed its appreciation for the fraternal gesture, stressing its commitment to the service of its community and people. 

A Syriac National Council is a local administrative church body composed of lay people and also clerics, and which coordinates and arranges the internal religious and cultural matters at a local village or towns level.
