Syria unveils new ‘visual identity’ with symbolic meanings
DARAMSUQ — Syria has launched a new national visual identity, featuring three stars over a golden eagle, symbolizing strength and balance. The design includes 14 feathers, representing Syria’s provinces, with the five feathers of the tail signifying the country’s five major geographical regions, emphasizing national unity.
Syria has introduced a new visual identity reflecting an “indivisible, unified Syria” that celebrates its cultural and ethnic diversity, as stated by Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa during the unveiling ceremony.
Speaking at the event held at the People’s Palace in Daramsuq (Damascus), al-Sharaa added that the new identity represents the rebuilding of Syrian society, a break from past oppression, as well as the beginning of a new era for a strong nation and a dignified life for its people.
According to the state-run SANA news agency, the updated golden eagle emblem embodies a modernized vision while drawing on historical symbolism to signify national revival.
