US President Donald Trump threatens repeated strikes on Iran if necessary
WASHINGTON, D.C. — US President Donald Trump declared his readiness to carry out repeated strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities if necessary.
“Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi talks about Iran’s nuclear facilities: ‘The damage is severe; they have been destroyed. That’s exactly what I said, and we’ll do it again, if necessary,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump asserted that Iran’s nuclear program had been severely damaged and demanded that media outlets that had questioned the effectiveness of US strikes apologize.
His threat came after Araghchi admitted in an interview with Fox News that Iran’s nuclear program was currently halted due to “serious damage” caused by Israeli and US airstrikes.
However, Araghchi stressed that Iran would not abandon uranium enrichment and was not ready for direct negotiations with the US over its nuclear program at this time.
“We are open to negotiations, but not direct talks,” Araghchi stated. “We are ready for cooperation.”
