Beth Nahrain Youth visits the shrine of Saint Barbara in Karamlesh

KARAMLESH, Nineveh Plains — As part of its efforts to build a cohesive community and strengthen the cultural identity of Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian youth in Iraq, and to deepen their connection to their historical homeland of Beth Nahrain, the Beth Nahrain Youth, affiliated with the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB), organized a spiritual and educational visit to the Shrine of Saint Barbara in the town of Karamlesh, with dozens of youth members participating.

The visit began with a tour of the monastery’s corridors and prayers held in the church, in a spiritual atmosphere marked by joy and solidarity among the participants.

Following the visit, the youth organized a recreational and educational program in the monastery’s gardens, which included intellectual and cultural competitions as well as group games, aimed at fostering a spirit of cooperation and knowledge among the youth in an atmosphere of joy and positive interaction.

This event is part of a series of activities by the Beth Nahrain Youth aimed at strengthening the spiritual and cultural identity of young people and empowering their role in building their community with responsibility and awareness.

Last week, the youth also organized a recreational trip to the Bandwaya resort, with the participation of young men and women from three provinces: Nineveh, Arba’ilo (Erbil), and Nohadra (Duhok).
