Syriac Officer Athro Lahdo assumes command of Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On Thursday, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) graduated its 4th batch of officers, named the ”Martyrs of Kojarat”. 

Officer Athro Eliyo Lahdo of the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) was promoted from Colonel to Major General and appointed as the new ISF General Commander in North and East Syria.  

This move comes as part of efforts to strengthen security infrastructure and enhance leadership capabilities. 

Lahdo’s promotion followed a 6-month intensive training program, where he underwent political education, ideological courses and advanced military drills. He was among 102 officers from various regions of North and East Syria who completed the program.

The graduation ceremony was attended by a DAARNES delegation, representatives from Presidential Council of Democratic Peoples’ Council and members of DAARNES Executive Council. Speeches were delivered by Hussein Othman, Co-Chair of the DAARNES Executive Council, representatives from Internal Security Forces Command, Social Justice Council and Martyrs’ Families Council. 

All speakers congratulated the graduates and praised the ISF efforts in maintaining stability and safety across North and East Syria.
