Abdi assures tribal leaders in meeting with Dayro Zcuro local councils
DAYRO ZCURO (DEIR EZ-ZOR), North & East Syria — The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi on Sunday met with Arab tribal leaders assuring them of the SDF’s commitment to the stability and security of the majority Arab region and that their considerations and interests will play an important role in future negotiations with the government in Daramsuq (Damascus).
According to the SDF statement, Abdi elaborated the SDF’s view on the latest political, military, security, and economic developments in Syria. His message was one of cooperation and joint action to maintain social peace and to combat hate speech together. Abdi was accompanied by officials of the SDF and the Internal Security Forces and by Fawza Youssef who leads the negotiation team of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) with Daramsuq.
The visit of the large and high SDF and DAARNES delegation to the tribal leaders and local councils of Dayro Zcuro comes at a time when the sectarian relationships in the region, and throughout the whole of Syria, are on edge by the recent violent conflicts in Suwayda between, among others, Druze and Arab (Sunni) Bedouin tribes. The latter sided with the Syrian government in the conflict. Ahmad al-Sharaa, also a Sunni, even praised them personally in a public speech for their support and patriotic heroism.
