BAGHDAD — On 30 July 2025, the Surayto Women’s Council visited Advisor to the President of Iraq Dr. Hanaa Emmanuel at the advisory office in the Green Zone in Baghdad. The delegation introduced the Surayto Women’s Conference, its key objectives and outcomes, and its new Council.
Dr. Emmanuel welcomed the delegation, thanking the organizers of the Conference and Council members for their dedicated efforts. She also stressed the importance of cooperation and joint work for the benefit of the people and the public good.
The Council also visited the Iraqi Women’s Network. It met with its head, former Iraqi MP Hanaa Adwar, who expressed her support and willingness to collaborate with the Council for the common good.
The Council had already visited the Directorate of Endowments for Christians, Yazidis and Sabean-Mandaeans, Iraqi Women’s League and Iraqi Communist Party. The meetings coincide with the Council’s delegation visits in Syria, where they are engaging with influential political, religious and community figures in Syria and Iraq.
The visits aim to expand the Council’s network and establish a shared foundation for cooperation among various institutions. The goal is to strengthen ties and create a unified platform for women’s national activism, emphasizing the essential role of women in the present and future of the region’s indigenous communities.
