Internal Security Forces targeted in armed attack in Dayro Zcuro

DAYRO ZCURO (DEIR EZ-ZOR), North and East Syria — Three members of the Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria region were injured on Tuesday afternoon, August 5, following an armed attack carried out by a suspected terrorist group in the town of Abriha, in the Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) canton, according to an official statement from the General Command of the Internal Security Forces.

The statement detailed that the assailants opened fire with a Kalashnikov rifle from a motorcycle, targeting a vehicle belonging to the Internal Security Forces at approximately 1:30 p.m. In response, security units swiftly cordoned off the area and launched an extensive search operation to track down the attackers and determine their identities.
