Surayto Women’s Council Showcases Achievements and Objectives to Former MP Hanaa Edwar

BAGHDAD — In a concerted effort to strengthen cooperation among Surayto women engaged in social and political affairs, a delegation from the Surayto Women’s Council paid a formal visit to former Iraqi Member of Parliament and President of the Iraqi Women’s Network, Ms. Hanaa Edwar, at her office in the capital. 

Ms. Edwar, accompanied by several members of the Iraqi Women’s Network, offered a warm welcome to the delegation. The meeting included a presentation outlining the outcomes of Surayto Women’s Conference, which laid the groundwork for the establishment of the Surayto Women’s Council. 

They further underscored the Council’s principal objectives and achievements, formally presenting Ms. Edwar with an official record of these outcomes. Ms. Edwar voiced her strong endorsement of the initiative, commending the Council’s steadfast commitment to serving the community and advancing the public interest. She affirmed her full support for the Surayto Women’s Council and expressed readiness to engage in joint efforts to promote women’s empowerment and strengthen their role in public life. 

The visit formed part of an ongoing series of strategic engagements by the Surayto Women’s Council with civil society leaders and political figures, aimed at fostering partnerships and consolidating efforts to champion women’s rights and enhance their participation at all levels.
