Universal Syriac Union Party and Kataeb Party plant cedar trees in honor of the martyrs

BAKISH, Lebanon — President of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) Ibrahim Mrad and Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel, jointly planted a cedar tree this morning in honor of the memory of the Syriac (Chaldean-Assyrian-Aramean) Martyrs who served in the ranks of the Lebanese Christian resistance.

The planting of commemoration trees took place at the closing of a Kataeb youth camp in the Martyrs’ Cedar Forest, Bakish, in the presence of the Kataeb Metn District head Walid Harrouk, former minister Alain Hakim, and sector heads of the Kataeb party.

An USUP delegation took part in planting cedar trees in honor of all martyrs, including the 1,132 Syriac Martyrs who gave their lives defending Lebanon and the free Christian presence.

The cedar planting initiative, organized by Kataeb’s Metn branch, serves as a symbolic gesture of loyalty to the blood of the martyrs and a commitment to national roots. At the same time, it renews the pledge to continue the common struggle for a sovereign, free, and independent Lebanon.
