People of North and East Syria convene to discuss political and military situation

TEL TAMR, Syria — Representatives of Syriac (Aramean–Chaldean–Assyrian) and Kurdish communities, as well as Arab tribal leaders convened in Tel Tamr, Gozarto Canton in North and East Syria to discuss the current situation in Syria.

The discussions revolved around the latest political and military developments in North and East Syria.

The ongoing threats by forces seeking to undermine stability were also touched on.

Commander of the Tel Tamr Military Council Imad Tel Tamr stated that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) remain committed to their role in countering terrorism and chaos, honoring sacrifices of martyrs who offered their lives to liberate the homeland.

Arab tribal leaders, in turn, pledged continued support for the SDF to protect the region and strengthen social solidarity, rejecting attempts to sow discord.

“Strength and cohesion of the community are the cornerstone for maintaining stability and ensuring a safe future for our children,” Arab tribal leaders added.

In a message directed to local and international communities, participants affirmed that people of North and East Syria are capable of defending themselves.

They emphasized that any political settlement that bypasses their will would be fragile and destined to fail.

The participants also agreed to periodically hold such gatherings and ensuring ongoing communication between the SDF and local tribes to confront future challenges.
