Syrian Democratic Forces conclude Hasakah security campaign with 51 arrests, foil ISIS suicide attack in Raqqa
RAQQA, North and East Syria — The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), of which the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulhoyo Suryoyo, MFS) is a founding member, concluded the Everlasting Security of the People campaign in Hasakah, North and East Syria, on 30 August 2025, announcing the arrest of 51 individuals suspected of belonging to the Islamic State (ISIS).
Despite the focus on Hasakah, the SDF maintained security operations across North and East Syria. On 31 August, the SDF foiled a suicide attack on one of its military checkpoints in northern Raqqa. ISIS militants had attempted to exploit the SDF’s concentration on the Hasakah campaign.
According to an SDF statement, its fighters directly engaged with the attackers. One assailant, wounded in the clash, detonated his suicide vest, while the other was killed. Three SDF fighters sustained minor injuries and remain in stable condition. The SDF also released photos of the attackers’ remains.

Separately, the SDF categorically denied recent rumors of clashes with Syrian government–affiliated factions in the village of Tel Ma’az in the eastern countryside of Holeb (Aleppo). The SDF Media Center called the reports “completely fabricated,” describing them as deliberate misinformation aimed at misleading the public.
The SDF clarified that its forces had not launched any attack or engaged in any fighting in the area, attributing the rumors instead to internal disputes among pro-Syrian government factions. The statement suggested that certain media outlets amplified these disputes to undermine progress in negotiations between the SDF and the Syrian government regarding the implementation of the 10 March agreement.
