SYRIA: Turkish-backed groups loot more frontline villages in Hasakah

TEL TAMR — According to local sources, members of the Turkish-backed Sultan Murad Division looted the remaining property of residents in several villages in the northern countryside of Hasakah on Wednesday with the intention of selling it in markets dedicated for looted materials in Rish Ayno (Ras al-Ayn).

The looted villages, Lilan and Al-Arabien, are located along the M4 highway west of Tel Tamr.

The same sources added that four-wheel-drive vehicles belonging to Turkish-backed factions were seen carrying household furniture and water storage tanks heading towards Rish Ayno.

According to the sources, Wednesday’s looting targeted many villages and coincided with an influx of Turkish-backed fighters in villages along the frontlines recently, after claiming to vacate their headquarters in Rish Ayno.

Turkish-backed factions announced over the past two weeks that they have started handing over their headquarters in the city of Ras al-Ein to the “Free Syrian Police” formed by Turkey.
