Syrian Democratic Council organizing national conference to promote dialogue between peoples, invites its opponents to attend
ZALIN, Syria — The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), one of the administrative bodies governing North and East Syria, has launched a series of dialogues to promote understanding between the various ethnic and religious groups residing in the region.
Gabriel Shamoun, Deputy Co-Chair the SDC, said in a special statement to SuroyoTV that the Council has presented an initiative to move towards a general national conference for the people of Gozarto (Jazira) and Euphrates regions.
Shamoun pointed out that the conference lectures will be focused on the relationship between all the peoples of the region, their historical relations, and their impact on the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria.
The conference will also explore the DAA project and its potential as a model for a new national decentralized democratic system, especially in light of the security, political, economic, and health crises in the country.
Shamoun also pointed out that the SDC is working to ensure the attendance of opponents of the DAA project to promote rapprochement.
He concluded by stating the SDC will continue to pursue a democratic, pluralistic, and decentralized Syria that guarantees the rights of all peoples.
