Universal Syriac Union Party in Lebanon distributes new round of food baskets under Heart-to-Heart aid campaign

BEIRUT – The Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in Lebanon announced a new distribution of 400 food baskets under its ongoing campaign ‘Men Lebo l-Lebo’ or ‘From-Heart-to-Heart’, an aid campaign it launched in April of this year. The USUP Heart-to-Heart campaign provides aid in a country hit by bankruptcy and political deadlock, aggravated by Corona-pandemic measures. In times where many people in Lebanon are deprived of work and income, the Heart-to-Heart helps people through these troubled times with food and medical assistance.

USUP is supported by several other affiliates of the Beth Nahrin National Council and funding comes through e.g. public fundraising, financial gifts from Syriacs in the diaspora and partner aid organizations such as the Shai Fund and SyriacCross for Relief and Development.

Heart-to-Heart provides assistance and food distributions to hundreds of needy families living in the areas of Northern Matn, Beirut, Zahle, Tripoli, and Kesrouan. The Bethnahrain Patriotic Union provides help under the Heart-to-Heart in Iraq.
