Syrian Democratic Forces arrest four ISIS suspects Busayrah near Dayro Zcuro
DAYRO ZCURO, Syria — The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced the arrest of four suspected members of the Islamic State (ISIS) in the city of Busayrah in the eastern countryside of Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) after a security operation carried out in cooperation with the U.S.-led International Coalition.
An informed source stated that the operation took place with Coalition air support and resulted in the arrest of four ISIS suspects who were manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and planning assassination operations.
Several of the IEDs recovered were completed and ready use.
The SDF and Coalition have continued to carry out qualitative counter-terrorism operations in and around Dayro Zcuro since the end of large-scale sweeping operations in the summer.
The region has seen an increase in attacks on SDF and Internal Security Forces personnel and targeted assassinations of civil and administrative figures in the region since its liberation from the Islamic State.
Last Monday, the SDF announced the arrest of former ISIS leader Abu Jihad al-Ansari who was known to carry out “Qissas” (Retribution) Operations.
