Syriac Syrian footballer Said Naoum passes away at 80 in Sweden
SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden — On Wednesday morning, Syriac Syrian footballer Said Naoum passed away in Södertälje, Sweden at the age of 80. Naoum was known for his professionalism and longevity in the sport.
Naoum, the father of four children, lived in Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria until he moved to Sweden in 1991.
He played for several Syrian clubs throughout his career, including Rafedain, Shabab, National Guard, Shahba, and Jaish. Naoum went on to became coach of several clubs and won several cups, including the Presidential Football Cup.
